Mental Health Series Event 2: Addiction

Thursday, June 10, 2021
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

We're sorry, the deadline for buying tickets for this event has passed.

Father and son David and Nic Sheff wrote their book High as a resource for kids and their caregivers, based on their lived experience — David, as a father, and Nic, as a person in recovery reflecting on his teenage-early adult years and time in active addiction.

Through the lens of the book, they’ll share their truths and what they’ve learned about teens, mental health, substance use, and how what we already know about kids can inform how we help them navigate their world post-pandemic.

David Sheff's NYT Best Seller Beautiful Boy powerfully describes how he walked the path of addiction that ultimately led to recovery with his son, Nic, for many years. Nic Sheff chronicles the experience from his own perspective in his memoir, Tweak. The major motion picture “Beautiful Boy” is based on both books’ accounts and is available for streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

This is the second event in the new JF&CS Mental Health Series for the Atlanta Community.
